She was struck when Andrew Harrison lost control of his light blue BMW coupe which hit her in the stomach as she walked along a path with her husband.
Her husband Andrew spoke briefly outside court where he read a short statement
The court heard evidence from a BMW mechanic who said there had been a fault with the car's ABS system.
A light on the car's dashboard indicated that this was the case, but Harrison failed to take note of the problem.
It was estimanted that Harrison had been driving at low speeds - probably around 20 mph at the time of the accident.
In additon to the two year sentence, Harrison was disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to take an extened driving test in the future.
