Original Sugababes Line-Up Reform!

Story Highlight

Siobhan, Mutya and Keisha are back together

The original line-up of the Sugababes have reformed and are busy recording new material together.

Teenage pop prodigy MNEK (The Wanted, The Saturdays, Tinie Tempah) announced on Twitter that he’s been working with Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Doherty in the studio.

The 17-year-old tweeted: “Ok, so the secret is out. I've been working with Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan - better known as the original Sugababes.”

He added: “We've already touched base on two amazing songs, which I'm super happy about. It's early days but I'm really excited.”

According to Popjustice, the trio are currently unsigned but are being managed by ‘Overload’ writer Felix Howard and they've been working with Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy and Xenomania.

It’s also not yet know what they’re going to be called.

Siobhan was the first original Sugababe to jump ship leaving the band in August 2001 to be replaced by former Atomic Kitten singer Heidi Range.

After enjoying the most commercially successful period of Sugababes’ career, Mutya left in December 2005 with Amelle Berrabah filling in for her.

The last to quit was Keisha in September 2009 who was replaced by UK Eurovision entrant Jade Ewan spelling the start of the controversial fourth incarnation of the group.

Last October, Mutya won the rights to the Sugababes name on certain items of merchandise including stationary and gift wrapping.

Just yesterday, Heidi confirmed in the press that the latest incarnation of Sugababes weren’t splitting up.
